BACK TO CALIFOWLNIA

We're finally getting around to telling you about our recent trip to Califowlnia. Eunice and I took Jet Blue to Sacramento (which we have renamed "Cluckramento"). It appeared that Merle and her friends Nancy and Barbara were taking the same trip as we kept running into them.

First on the list was Mendocino County (now called "Hendocino County")in the Upper Russian River Valley area. On the way to the City of 10,000 Buddhas, we stopped to see a redwood tree. Boy are they tall!

So, there it was...this city of buddhas. There were peacocks running all over the place but not as many peahens. Dined at the gathering dining room for a vegetarian lunch. Lots of buddha religious stuff at the bookstore.

Afterward we checked into the Super 8 Motel in Ukiah. I was more than eco-friendly. They even have separate garbage pails in the rooms for recycled items. Barbara and Nancy were next door so we popped in on them.

Dinner was at a restaurant called Branches. Great food and staff. They also have a bakery that we were most interested in. Pastry chef wasn't available but the owner was telling us about his balls.
