Eunice and I had gotten word that a nearby museum was having a surprise guest. The museum is called the New York Hall Of Science located at the Flushing Meadows - Corona Park in Queens. The main building goes back to the 1964 World's Fair. We weren't even born then. Of course it's now called the New YOLK Hall of Science.
We were checking out the museum but focusing on stuff that had to do with outer space. Astronaut Tom Jones (not the singer) was going to show up.
We were asking about these two rockets sitting outside the building....real ones. One actually went into outer space.
Then we saw this real module.
Afterwards we went upstairs to do some posing.
Tom Jones and his public relations person made their way into the building so we fluttered around to find and talk with him.
He talked with us about the Kennedy Space Center, his career and his book. Hoping to go to Florida in a few months!!!!
Esther resided at the Rubber Chicken Forest at the Twisted Oak Winery in California. She was taken home and enjoyed herself until she saw her twin sister's photo on an egg carton. Eunice was sent to New York to be with Esther. At first they did not get along as Esther was used to traveling alone. Now they travel together. The family expands adopting Ethel Louise at Chix R' Us and taking in Marilyn, a kleptomaniac, and Minerva, who have recently adopted baby Mildred.

OUT TO EAT
It's been quite a while since Eunice and I went anywhere. We've been busy hanging out with our new friends, Marilyn and Minerva. They haven't been out in public as yet so Eunice and I went to this wonderful Dominican restaurant in Queens called Gran Rancho.
We started with this dip that had onions, charred tomatoes, olive oil, vinegar and chipolte. It was served with yucca chips and plantain chips. A bit spicy, but good.
Appetizers of shrimp cerviche, octopus salad and a trio of empanadas...beef, chicken...looked but didn't eat...and one with guava and cheese.
Out came this drink in a pineapple. I think we sipped it too quickly. Didn't realize that Merle was there. She sat down at the table with her friends Deveka and Ernie. Merle was aghast. She didn't realize that we were only kidding.
We met the owner, Oscar Monegro. Continuing with our food...we had some oxtail and some goat dish. Later this guy came over to sing with his guitar.
All in all the food was great.

GELATO AT LA DOLCE VIA
Eunice and I went to this new gelato cafe in the Whitestone section of Queens. The cafe is called La Dolce Via. Now we don't have to go to Provincetown, Ma or Winnipeg in Canada to get authentic gelato. We hopped on a motor scooter and checked out both the inside and garden. John and his family allowed us to taste their gelato and boy was it good! We'll be back for more. That's for sure!
